We are looking for a full-time Client Services Representative to join our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This is a newly created position. Reporting to our Senior Partner and working with our sales team, you will be part of the ongoing administrative and sales operations involving our clients and potential clients. You must have or be willing to acquire the appropriate Nova Scotia license (LLPQ) to service and sell life and health insurance products in order to assist in the administrative and sales responsibilities of this position.
Assisting in growing our business in the employee benefits, life and health fields by providing strong leadership and client service
Working in all aspects of the prospecting, sales and retention phases of our business
Working with existing and potential clients to discuss their coverage and prepare proposals where new or existing products could better address their needs
Developing and strengthening business relationships and trust with clients and prospective clients with a demonstrated commitment to their interests and priorities
Working with our team to prepare our communication needs with a focus on growing our company’s base; drafting marketing materials and the visual presentation of our brand
Developing and presenting briefing sessions for our sales team to address the changing needs of our prospects and clients.
Initiating client care calls on a regular and rotating schedule to provide service, record keeping, problem resolution, etc.
Drafting and sending correspondence as guided by our Senior Partner—quotes, proposals, renewals, etc. adhering to our administrative processing and in accordance with all appropriate confidentiality regulations
Accompanying our Senior Partner on service and client calls, seminars and training programs. Upon completion of the probationary period, you will initiate these calls and appointments
Maintaining full knowledge of products and services available to and provided by our team
Working as a member of a collaborative team with trust and respect for each member
Other responsibilities as they arise
A valid LLPQ license for the Province of Nova Scotia service and sell life and health insurance products or be willing to acquire this license. While preference will be given to applicants with the appropriate license, your application will be considered if you have a proven sales record, are interested in a career in life and health benefits sales field and are willing to acquire the appropriate sales license.
A diploma or undergraduate degree with a focus in business and communication or marketing and strong analytical and organizational skills
A self-starter with exceptional communication, verbal and interpersonal skills, a team player with a strong work ethic who works with minimal supervision
An ability to work in a fast-paced, competitive environment and to adapt quickly to daily changes
A commitment to provide exceptional customer service
An ability to set priorities and multi-task
An ability to use and adapt to product software—MS Office, email, internet, etc.
A minimum of two years of experience in the insurance industry in a sales and/or administrative role
Satisfactory completion of a Criminal Record Check

Office hours: 8:30- 5:00 week days. Your work with clients and prospective clients, participation in networking and promotional events will occasionally extend beyond regular office hours.
Vacation: two weeks annual (three weeks at five-year anniversary)
Sick time: five days annual
Statutory and provincial holidays—non-working days
Probationary period: 90 days if you hold the appropriate Nova Scotia license to service and sell life and health insurance products. Otherwise, you will be required to obtain the appropriate Nova Scotia license as noted within a six-month period. The probationary period will extend through this timeframe of up to six months for the acquisition of the appropriate license.
Some travel will be required…you must have a valid driver’s license
Salary: $38,000 - $40,000 pending qualifications
